With Genworth Life Insurance Company, If you have an annuity that pays you money, you have to sign and notarize a form that you are still alive every year, to receive benefit payments without interruption. Now my bank will not do this and it is really inconvenient to...

Proof of life is an inconvenience and the threat of your annuity being cut to seniors is stressful.. If a person dies it is the banks responsible to notify the insurance co.

I sent it in and I than got another notice.

had to call to make sure they got which they did. With this policy I would never recommend Genworth.

My father has had this long term health care policy for a long time. He had accumulated over $150,000 in benefits. At the the age of 86 , and health starting to fail him, and finally retiring because of that, he was in need of using some of the accumulated money from...

Read the policy. You don't "accumulate" money in a long term care policy.

You pay annual or monthly premium to keep the policy active. If you lapsed the premium payment for even one month, then the policy is null and void, without recourse. It's horrible, but that's what happens when seniors get older-- they stop paying the premium, and all the years that the policy were active go up in a puff of smoke with absolutely no recourse.

Of course, a law should be implemented preventing horrible companies from doing this, but alas. There is no law against it.

My Mother, Doris E. Cowell, has been a 10 year policyholder with Genworth(previously AMEX and GE Capital). The policy was purchased in the event of an eventuality of long term care. She entered Magnolia Springs on or about August 3rd 2017 which is an approved assisted...

Genworth now has an online portal for upload of documents like these. This keeps Genworth honest. Otherwise, Genworth can say "We never received the forms in the mail." Either use the online portal, or send the paper documents signature required upon delivery or via Fedex to prove receipt.

I am a long term care policy holder. I wish to object to next years exorbent premium increase of 47.5 per cent. You are converting your customers to victims.

In intend to pursue a class action suit on behalf of Genworth longterm policy holders. They have misrepresented the product. Most of us believed the rate was fixed over the term of policy as long as you kept payments up to date. As we all know Genworth has increased...

Nov 2018, just received notice of 4th Genworth premium rate increase in nine years, bringing total increase to 90%. Am going to take "Pay nothing more" option as I have no faith that this sleazy firm will not continue to aggressively raise premiums or ever pay out a dime of benefits without a hassle.

The problem is that the only "benefit" we get is the cash value of our already paid premiums IF we ever successfully file a claim.

Since that day is likely to be 20 years down the road, and since Genworth is not going to credit us for the interest that money earns sitting in their investment account, we will be lucky if it buys 1 day of nursing home care when we need it. The right thing for Genworth to do is return the already paid premiums so that I can invest them against future needs.

Genworth Life Insurance Review

I was interviewed by a very uncaring auditor for my personal questions including medical history. It became evident that her only interest was to record my voice saying yes or no. I felt like a rat being examined by a lab technician. I'm firing them now because this is a cautionary warning that they think nothing of me. I'm glad I met her kind BEFORE parting with my money.

I hate to be a jerk, but did you read your policy? There's no limit on annual premium increases!

They've got you over a barrel. The only way to stop paying premium is to start a claim-- recent falls (doctor visits recommended), difficultly walking, need a walker, can't remember what day it is are good places to start. However, did you know that annual long term insurance premium increases are regulated by a government body?

My objective is to uncover lobbying efforts by Genworth to persuade government reps to increase premiums exorbitantly. What bribes has Genworth given these government reps?
